Hey there, time traveller!

I was driving my vehicle to my service station heading north on St. Mary’s Road just past St. Vital Mall approaching Bishop Grandin Road.
The two centre lanes were backed up, and I wondered what the problem was as it was well past morning rush hour. No one was honking just slow moving.
As I got closer I saw a car in each lane stopped with their flashers on and a man walking in front of his car.
As I drove slowly past him, only then did I see the reason for the delay. He was gently guiding a mother mallard and her brood of about eight babies to the centre curb. That was a heartwarming start to my day.
I had to keep moving but on my return south on the same road, there was no sign of Mom and her babies and traffic was moving normally so it appears they crossed safely.
Thank you to the driver who took time to see to their safety and all the others who patiently waited while this was accomplished.
