Help there when needed
My husband and I took our two youngest children to the National Historic Site at Batoche in Saskatchewan. We were winding down a fabulous trip to Emma Lake, the home of my husband’s cousin, and we had just finished a two-kilometre walk through the site.
On our way to the parking lot, my daughter and I were fooling around, and I didn’t see the depression in the grass in front of us. I lost my footing and hit the ground hard. I broke two bones in my right foot.
My husband managed to get me up to try and make it to our car, parked less than three metres away. But my foot wasn’t having it.
A couple immediately came to help. With the woman’s gentle voice and the mans extra hand, we were able to make it to the car and get me positioned in the back seat with my foot elevated.
We did not get their names, but I need to thank them for their help. Without their assistance, we would have had a much harder time getting me to the car.
