'I love this city'

My mother came to Winnipeg from Mississauga for a family wedding. She and I visited the Winnipeg Zoo and had a truly enjoyable afternoon. After we visited the discovery centre, a girl who was selling ice cream called out to my mother, and asked if the purse the girl was holding belonged to her.

Sure enough, it was my mother’s purse. She had placed it beside her on a bench after asking a fellow zoo visitor to take our photo. My mother’s relief — and mine! — was immense.

We do not know who initially handed the purse over to the girl selling ice cream bars, but we would like to thank him or her for their honesty and kindness. All my mother’s travel money was still in her wallet.

A huge thank you to the person who turned in the purse and to the young lady who kept her eye out for us when we exited the discovery centre. No wonder I love this city!
