Hey there, time traveller!

A kind woman came to my rescue on an extremely cold Winnipeg January morning. I was driving to work along Waverley Street when all of a sudden, I noticed a foul smell coming from my car. Quickly, that smell turned into black smoke seeping out of the dashboard.
I immediately pulled over and jumped out of my car as sparks of flames were coming out of the stereo area.
I stood on the side of the road in -40 C weather, frantically calling for help on my phone. I heard someone pull up behind me and say, "Quick, get in the car, it is freezing out!" I hopped into the car belonging to the kind voice and met Joan.
Joan had already turned the seat warmers on in her car and called 911. As she spoke to the dispatcher, explaining what was going on, I was able to warm up and pull myself together. Joan let me sit in her warm car the entire time we waited for the fire trucks to arrive.
I have no idea what I would have done without Joan. Her kindness made it possible for me to get through a very traumatizing event.
