‘John, you made my day’
It was a beautiful, sunny, winter day and I had just come back from walking my dog. As we made our way up the sidewalk to my house, I realized that the huge snow bank, which the snowplow had left, was becoming very difficult to walk over.
I do have a snow service and they come within 24 hours of a snowfall, but had left that one particular area. So, I decided I would tackle that job myself.
It was harder than I thought it would be as it was mostly hard chunks of icy snow, but I just kept going and going and got nowhere fast.
The traffic on our street is fairly heavy, and I looked up when I heard a car stop a short distance from me. A gentleman, in business clothes, got out of his spotless wine-coloured car and with a big smile on his face said, "Here, let me give you a hand with that."
I protested but he insisted. It was quite the job, and I know I wouldn’t have been able to do it.
I was so touched by this very thoughtful gesture and I’ll never forget it.
John, you made my day! Thank you so much for your kindness.
