Not a thing missing
After a hectic work day and a busy evening, I was loading my car to finally head home. As I loaded the trunk, chatted with the colleague I was driving home, and dealt with other distractions, I completely forgot that I had put my purse on the roof of the car, and I carelessly drove off.
Imagine my dismay on arriving home! I decided to quickly retrace my route in the hope I would find my bag. I mentally cataloged the purse’s contents and wondered what were the chances I would find it, and if I found it, what would be missing or damaged.
My hunt proved fruitless, and I returned home an hour later, discouraged. Checking my messages, I discovered that my bag had been found scattered across the road and turned in to the Winnipeg Police Service.
The next morning I picked it up and found, to my delight, that all was in good order.
Thank you to Shirley, my Good Samaritan, for your honesty, thoughtfulness and kindness.
