Renewed faith in fellow Winnipeggers

  • Print

Arriving at the bank to deposit his GST cheque this winter, my son discovered it missing. He retraced his walking route to no avail and after a failed attempt to have it cancelled and a new one issued, gave up and counted it as a lost opportunity.

Fast forward to last Tuesday.

While sorting through our mail, I found a folded piece of paper with only our home address written on it. Inside was the lost cheque with a note that it had been found frozen in a snowbank close to my son’s bank.

The note did not provide the name of my son’s benefactor, only where the cheque had been discovered and a note expressing the "hope it’s still good." It was.

Whoever you are, from my Son Zachery and myself, thank you for the extra effort you put in and for renewing my faith in our fellow Winnipeggers.
