Ring returned brings tears, hugs

  • Print

We had dedicated Aug. 4 this year in memory of our son, Ray. That is his birthday, but sadly he died four years ago.

He had always enjoyed strolling through Assiniboine Park. We spent some time at the delightful Leo Mol Sculpture Garden.

My husband was wearing Ray’s wedding band, which has always been a treasured keepsake. But when we got home, we discovered that Ray’s ring had slipped off my husband’s finger.

Tearful, panicky and anxious phone calls later, we were able to connect with Brenda in the lost and found at the park’s conservatory. Brenda followed up our call with inquiries to the Leo Mol Gallery and discovered that some wonderful, kind soul had found the ring and turned it in to Lisa at the Leo Mol Gallery.

After our hugs and thankful tears, we learned no name had been left. We can’t begin to express our thankfulness and send many blessings to this special person who we will never be able to thank in person.

Thank you to Brenda and Lisa as well for you happy hugs, your kindness and caring.

— Alex and Del Ritchie
