Saviours on the highway
I would like to say a big thank-you, to two women who came to my rescue.
I was returning from the lake carrying two bikes on a bike carrier attached to my car. Evidently, at some point the cotter pin dislodged.
The bike carrier disengaged, the bikes attached to the carrier flew off my car, skidded across the highway and came to rest a metre or so from the car.
The fact that I could have killed any motorist following closely behind me left me in shock.
My two guardian angels stopped. First, they asked if I was all right and then they assisted me in getting the bikes and the carrier into the back of my car.
While I have told the story to many friends, I have not had a chance to officially thank these women. I hope they read this and recognize how much their random act of kindness is valued.
