Senior grateful for returned bus pass

I decided to walk to my home at Lions Place from the downtown Bay store.

It was a very warm day and as I walked along with my walker, I felt very warm and tired so I took off my light jacket and draped it over the walker. I had forgotten that the billfold with my just-purchased seniors’ bus pass for October, as well as some cash, etc., was in the jacket pocket. I was not aware that the billfold had fallen out of my jacket and onto Portage Avenue sidewalk.

I was surprised when within minutes of returning home, I received a phone call from a lady named Carmela who had found my billfold. She told me I could get it at the front desk of the CBC Building. She must have seen my name and phone number on the back of my bus pass.

I was so happy to go and get my bus pass and other things. I asked at the front desk for Carmela but was told she was working.

The loss of my bus pass would have been a major inconvenience for me, apart from the monetary value. It is my main means of getting around as I take my walker on the bus.

I am very grateful to Carmela and thank her for her honesty and integrity.
