Special trip across parking lot
The day was rainy, gloomy and dark. That’s how I began to feel on the inside, too, so I decided to go for a little drive and pick up some juicy blueberries at Extra Foods on St. Anne’s Road.
Unfortunately, they had none, so I got a few bananas instead and walked out. The rain was coming down with much greater force than ever. Momentarily, I stood there checking out exactly where my car was parked, and I was about to make a dash for it when suddenly there was a voice beside me that said, "Here, come under my umbrella, and I’ll walk you to the car."
With that she held a jacket over our heads, and as we huddled together we kept completely dry.
When I got into the car, I thanked her profusely — and I want to thank you again. I asked for your name, but in my senior moment I forgot.
What an incredibly thoughtful person you are!
I believe she was one of the employees. This was much more than just keeping dry on the outside. It was a totally "holistic" experience. It speaks of the goodness and kindness there is in all of humanity. It also warmed my insides and left a cheery feeling.
I hope you felt the same after your kindness to a total stranger.
The day was much brighter although the rain continued on.
