Students to the rescue
Everyone knows how frustrating it is to be stuck in traffic. Well, I was the cause of it last week and it does not feel good.
I was driving my son to his first day of high school when my car broke down about a block before the school on Grant Avenue. He got out and ran to school, and I got on my phone to figure out what to do.
A young woman came to my window and asked, if she got a bunch of people together, would I like them to push my car off the road and of course I said yes.
Within minutes she had gathered some other fine young students, and they pushed me onto Shaftesbury Boulevard, all the way into the Mennonite Church parking lot.
I think they were CMU students, but I’m not sure as I was a little preoccupied on my phone and dealing with my crying daughter in the back seat.
I said thanks, but I would like to let everyone else know about these great students who saved me and all the other people in traffic.
Thanks again and to the drivers who honked at me in frustration, I hope you read this and will be a little kinder next time.
