‘Thank you, Jack’
My mother Anne McLaughlin, a senior, was driving on the far side of the Henderson Highway Sobey’s store toward Brazier Street in November 2011.
It was here that her car got a flat tire. A gentleman, who only identified himself as Jack, was walking by with a bag of groceries and stopped to offer assistance. My mother had been very sick with a bad cold and had just started getting out and about again.
Well, Jack took the time to change her tire, and it was not an easy job! The day was cold and getting the tire off and changed took some time. My mother tried giving him money for his trouble, but he refused it.
This is to say a sincere thank you to Jack on behalf of my mother and me. I reside in New Brunswick, so, needless to say, I wasn’t readily available.
It is these good Samaritans, such as Jack, who reassure us there are good people out there who sincerely care about others.
Thanks again, Jack. It was deeply appreciated.
