Thanks for the excellent hospital care
I was in Winnipeg attending a wedding when I fell down a flight of stairs and was taken to the Health Sciences Centre by ambulance.
The incident was most unfortunate. However, the subsequent events were nothing short of amazing. I apologize if my memory of names is incorrect.
The paramedics — I think they were Danny and Trevor — attended to my immediate needs with the greatest professionalism. They transported me to HSC and stayed with me until I was released.
The triage nurse, — I think her name was Joanne — turned out to be my guardian angel. She was extremely organized and efficient.
I was impressed by how quickly the very busy and competent physician attended to me. The X-rays were ordered and completed in the timeliest manner.
Another nurse, who I believe was named Lori, quickly taught me to use the crutches and assisted me to the vehicle when I was released.
The whole experience from entering the hospital to leaving took about one hour and 15 minutes.
I was amazed at the competence and compassion exhibited by all the members of this health care team. I am an ex- Winnipegger and very proud to claim that I was a recipient of such excellent care.
Thank you to everyone.
