As my girlfriend, Louise, and I were driving home from church, my car stalled yet again at the stop light intersection just before Grant Avenue and Kenaston Boulevard.
We were in the centre lane, making it difficult for us to push the car into the nearby strip mall. Louise put on the hazards, and I lifted the hood.
A gentleman came out of nowhere and offered to help push my car into the strip mall lot. As we pushed and Louise steered the car, the man thanked and apologized to oncoming vehicles as we crossed their path to get the car into the lot.
Things could have been worse if we had waited for a tow in the middle of traffic and slowed an already congested intersection. I don’t think I could have pushed the SUV myself as some of it was a little uphill.
I shook his hand and thanked him for his help but forgot to get his name. He disappeared as quickly as he showed up.
Thank God and thank that man for being there when we needed just a little bit of a helping hand..
