I was grocery shopping with my young daughter last week. Being in the middle of a divorce, my budget was pretty small.
I thought I was under budget but when the tally rang up, I’d been sadly mistaken. The amount was over what I could afford.
I was looking for what to put back when this lovely lady behind me offered up cash to cover the difference. Of course I politely declined, but she was quite insistent.
I accepted her offer with enormous thanks and briefly explained to her my situation. She said she’d been through the same thing, gave me a warm hug and assured me things would get better.
If this lady who was shopping with her daughter at the Gateway supermarket reads this, thank you so much and I hope we meet again.
