Labour Day weekend! Whether you're heading to the cottage for some last-minute relaxation or hunkering down in front of the television for the Bomber game, make sure to put away those white pants.
Here's what you need to know about buying wine, beer and other grown-up bevvies this weekend - essentially, everyone is keeping regular hours on Saturdays and Sundays.
On the holiday Monday:
- Liquor Marts are closed on the Labour Day Monday.
- The following private wine stores are also closed Labour Day: G.J. Andrews Food and Wine Shoppe, Calabria Market and Wine and La Boutique del Vino.
- Open from noon to 6:00 p.m. are Banville & Jones, Kenaston Wine Market, De Luca Fine Wines and The Winehouse.
- Fenton's Wine Merchants is open from 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
As for buying brewskis, beer vendors are allowed to be open, and likely will be at their discretion - call ahead to avoid disappointment.
Speaking of beer, watch for a Flatlanders Beer Festival preview next week in this spot. I'm also looking into a local winery that is no more - if I firm up anything on that front it'll be here as well.
Oh, and of course I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that you can follow me on Twitter for more.
