My inspiration for the title of this post? I was interviewed by none other than Terry David Mulligan this morning – yes, he of Good Rockin’ Tonite and Much West in days gone past.
Mulligan is currently in the Okanagan Valley (although in the process of moving back to Vancouver), and hosts a weekly wine-related radio show called The Tasting Room (you can listen to archived episodes via TDM's website).
I’m not sure when my segment will air, but I’ll be sure to keep readers posted as I learn more.
Wednesday is the last chance for Winnipeg Free Press readers to enter the Taste of BC contest.
We’ll have Dave Carson, senior winemaker from Jackson Triggs Okanagan, on-hand at the Winnipeg Free Press News Café next Thursday. Twenty-five lucky winners (and their guests) will enjoy Carson’s wines paired with dishes created by Domenic Amatuzio and the Winnipeg Free Press News Café crew.
At the end of the night, one of the lucky attendees will win a trip to the Okanagan in late September/early October with a guest – and with me.
The itinerary is shaping up to be a great one – in addition to some great winery visits, the Okanagan Fall Wine Festival will be in full swing, so we’ll be able to taste the best of what the Okanagan Valley has to offer.

Tonight marks the beginning of a busy string of days for me – there’s the Flatlander’s Beer Festival Beer Dinner tonight at Bergmann’s on Lombard, then the public tastings kick off tomorrow night and pick up again Friday night at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. Then Friday through Sunday is ManyFest, featuring the Taste of Downtown Wine & Cheese Festival. The six independent specialty wine stores of Manitoba will be pouring wines all weekend right across from the Legislative Building. For more info click here.
