Hey there, time traveller!

I've been listening out of the corner of one eye this morning to the city's election website, this being the first day that candidates can bring in their nomination papers.
Such suspense, such excitement.
Alas, no names posted yet....I feel my life is empty.
I've heard of only one city incumbent trustee who's thinking about retiring. I'm aware of three who've announced plans to run for city council, and I read in our paper recently that another has a provincial nomination for next fall.
But until the names are there, right up to 4:30 p.m. next Tuesday, it's all so agonizingly uncertain.
I've been surprised at the lack of potential candidates calling me and trying to get their names in the paper. Remember, people, it's all about me.
OK, there was one guy who was pitching a story, and I heard that he was thinking of running, but I didn't think the issue was worth a story. He then went to an editor and said I was ignoring the story, but he still didn't get his name published.
Let me hit refresh again.
Pause to build suspense.
Dang! Still no names! Double dang!
