Not learning their lesson

If we ever needed proof that the majority of criminals put little to no thought into their actions...Four chronic Winnipeg car thieves are ordered to attend a government-run program aimed at reducing their high-risk lifestyle and teaching them the errs of their ways.As I reported earlier this week, the teens went to class all right - IN A STOLEN CAR!The bizarre incident, which occurred last Friday, has police and justice officials shaking their heads in disbelief.Now, the fact that youths with a penchant for stealing cars jack up another vehicle is hardly news. That's the equivalent of reporting that the sun will come up tomorrow morning.But what is most amazing is the fact they actually made an effort to attend their counseling. Were they really trying to steer their lives in a better direction? Or is it more a case of realizing a no-show would likely result in an automatic breach and put them back behind bars?So how to explain the car theft, then?Simple - they must have thought they could get away with it. Probably because they usually do.On this day, plainclothes officers with the stolen auto unit happened to come across the hot car as it sat outside the downtown training program and brought the "students" to justice as they left.So have they finally learned their lesson?
