Somewhat overshadowed by this week’s news of convicted cop killer Laurie Bell being re-arrested for a parole violation was the following little nugget from the jail guard she’s alleged to be romantically linked to.

The man – who spoke to the me from his Edmonton home – had this to say about his time spent supervising Bell and other female inmates at the Edmonton Institute For Women.

"It's basically like a college campus. They just run wild all day. They're sun-tanning, barbecuing steak, chilling. We have to be out there. They call it dynamic security, basically just hanging out with them."

The guard also added that he thought Bell probably didn’t mind being hauled back into custody "since she probably has it better inside than outside anyways."

Isn’t it nice to know that people convicted of such horrendous crimes are living large – at taxpayers expense, no less.
