You have a cooling-off period.
So cool it.
Whether you agree or not with suspending Parliament, it’s happened. We’re here. So let’s make the best of it.
The Governor General in proroguing parliament, in my humble opinion, is sending a message to every MP who was elected on Oct. 14 that it is high time you dropped the histrionics and the hyperbole, stopped adding insults and injuries, and put aside your partisan blinders.
She’s saying get your act together.
Everyone screwed up here.
Admit it. Apologize for it. And then stop it.
And to the others of you that would try to use this for your own political gain, I say BUTT OUT. Elizabeth May – this isn’t about you. Sorry but you didn’t get elected. You may think almost a million Canadians voted for you but right now that’s irrelevant. So stop talking about getting into the Senate.
Jacques Parizeau, climb back into whatever hole you just came out of and put the duct tape back over your mouth.
Hugh McFadyen, please stop trying to use this situation to drag the Ottawa ordeal into the Manitoba Legislature.
We have seven weeks until a federal budget. I think the best Christmas present Canadians could get is peace and quiet from politics, while our leaders try to sort out between them the best way to get Canada through this next year or two of economic insanity.
You’ve all been given the gift of time.
Don’t blow it.
