Hey there, time traveller!

If you want a bit of a taste of how high the rhetoric and emotions are running in Ottawa right now you must only witness the segment of CBC’s Power and Politics show Tuesday night between two Manitoba MPs. Conservative Candice Hoeppner and NDP Pat Martin. Liberal Ralph Goodale was there too but could hardly get a word in as the two ‘Tobans duked it out.
Some Conservatives tried to suggest the exchange was sexist with Martin bullying a female MP.
Which sent Martin off all over again today.
"That's ridiculous. It would be sexist to let her get away with her slanderous lies and give her deferential treatment just because she's a woman. I'm completely gender blind in denouncing conservative sleaze. She's actually a very capable and sophisticated back room political strategist. Chair of Harper's leadership campaign...don't anyone believe she's a naïve rookie."
I’ll leave it to readers (and viewers) to decide who, if anyone, was in the right or wrong. But I’d not hesitate to suggest this will not be the last exchange of this type we witness in the coming months. I suspect the attack ads so far are just getting us warmed up.
