In room 236 of the Manitoba Legislative Building, two sets of eyes watch you coming and going.
The photos of two cowboys were hung on opposite walls sometime during the holidays.
Cowboy One on the outside wall watches you when you walk into the room to use the washroom or buy a Twix bar in the candy machine.
Cowboy Two on the inside wall watches you when you leave.
I'm sure each of them are decent guys--they took the time to get gussied up and pose for the photos--but their presence in the room 236 lounge, just across the hall from the chamber, kind of gives me the willies.
The pair were photographed in 2009 by Winnipeg artist Sheila Spence and are part of her exhibit All About Star, which featured 24 portraits of rodeo cowboys taken at the Rocky Mountain Rodeo in Strathmore, Alberta, and the Wood Mountain Stampede in southern Saskatchewan.
The portraits are now part of province's art collection.
