WINNIPEG — The race is on for 2011.
Kelly de Groot is the Progressive Conservative candidate for Kirkfield Park and the first candidate nominated for the Oct. 4, 2011 provincial election.
The Tories say de Groot’s nomination Wednesday night signals the kick-off the PC drive to nominate as many candidates as possible before the end of the year.
De Groot www.kellydegroot.ca/ will go up against NDP incumbent Sharon Blady.
In the 2007 election de Groot campaigned against the NDP’s Jim Rondeau in next-door Assiniboia, losing by almost 2,900 votes.
She ran in the last municipal election in St. Charles and lost to Grant Nordman by 688 votes.
She was appointed in November as acting president & CEO by the board of directors of St. Boniface Hospital Foundation after serving as the finance and managing director with the foundation for the two years.
