It's been NHL-returns overload in Winnipeg over the last few weeks. The story and the issues have been covered at every possible angle, rumours continue to run rampant and everyone has their opinion on if, when and how the NHL will return to Winnipeg.
Covering this issue from a video perspective has not been easy. I'm always against doing just a video version of the story you read in the paper and online, so I was trying to find a way to cover the issue from a different perspective.
You may have seen our "Hope springs eternal" video about the lonely Jets fan who plays a mean game of street hockey by himself, only to be sent away by an "official." He leaves, stick, ball and net in hand and heads home. It was an attempt to tell the story of what many Jets diehards are going through as these rumours come and go.
A special shout-out to our brilliant actors Andrew Lizotte and Mike Ambrose. These two, on minutes' notice, came downtown to be in this video, and did an amazing job! Oscar-worthy, gents.
I'm sucker for a happy ending, so, of course we shot one! I present to you, the director's cut of "Hope springs eternal." Which one do you like better?
