Why the compulsion to get away after sex?

  • Print

DEAR MISS LONELYHEARTS: I had a fight with my new lady over going home after every time we have sex. She won; I stayed the night. In the morning, I said, "There now, are you satisfied? I won't have to do this every night, will I?" I slept for a few hours because I didn't have to work until 4 p.m., but when I got up she had hidden my clothes. I looked all over the house and couldn't find them. She wouldn't answer her cell. I had to squeeze into her jeans and t-shirt to get home. She thought that was a great joke. I still love her but now I can't trust her. What should I do? -- Rock and a Hard Place, Selkirk

Dear Rock: You left out one glaring piece of information. Why do you go running away after making love with your lady, and not stay to cuddle, sleep and wake up with her in the morning, like another guy would? Maybe she doesn't trust where you go after you leave her. Write back with the answer to this important question and we'll talk again in this column.

Dear Miss Lonelyhearts: I took off 25 pounds the hard way -- diet and exercise and forbidding myself the leisure of sitting on my butt. Last night my husband said,"I prefer you the way you were before when you had a woman's body." I am down to my fighting weight, which is 125 lbs., and I like my, lean hard muscular body. But now I just feel like punching him in the face because I went through so much to get rid of the extra flab I gained after having our baby. By the way, he's fat himself and I don't mean slightly overweight. What should I do now? I don't want to get fat again to please him. -- Mad and Frustrated, River Heights

Dear Frustrated: You can't please everybody in this world and you need to be happy with yourself. You're still soft and silky and womanly at a slim weight, so let his criticisms roll off your back and stay the way you want to be. He's s probably feeling uncomfortable because now you're not overweight like he is. He probably feels the pressure is on for him to hit the gym and stop munching.
