On the Night Table with Lindsay Smith
Director of volunteer services, Siloam Mission
"I'm currently getting a chance to do my MBA, so leisurely reading is hard to come by. For a good night's sleep I read my corporate finance textbook. I read The English Patient last fall because it made its way into a Seinfeld episode, so I wanted to see what the jokes were about. I also read Les Mis©rables recently in order to say that 'I read the book' before the movie came out. Les Mis©rables challenged me to be as grace-filled as the bishop, as brave as Fantine and as resilient as Jean Valjean. It taught me that one moment of sin does not have to dictate the rest of your life, if met with one moment of grace. Why not be that moment of grace for someone?"
