"I just finished one of the best reads ever -- Three Day Road by Joseph Boyden, a novel about two Cree friends who leave the Canadian North to fight in the First World War. It is compelling, filled with symbolism and was hard to put down. For me the sign of a good book is when I miss the characters after finishing the last page. Three Day Road left me wanting more. Now I am reading Miriam Toews' new novel, Irma Voth, which is also good story. I love Canadian fiction, but when I need a break I have a few books by Pema Chodron on the stack and also The Little Prince, a classic filled with many gems of wisdom that helps me keep the world in perspective."
