On the NightTable: Lisa Saunders

Lisa Saunders Winnipeg publicist and keyboardist/vocalist with alt-pop band Thrift Store Love

"I usually rely on friends, family and Winnipeg Library staff for recommendations. That way, I have a better chance of finding a good read! My friend Kelly just lent me Fall on Your Knees, by Toronto author Ann-Marie MacDonald and set in turn-of-the-century Cape Breton. Other recent reads include Dan Hill's I Am My Father's Son (which I bought from Dan at a songwriters' event at the Park Theatre) and The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho -- both really good books. Most fun read of late? Michael Slack's Monkey Truck, which the kids picked out at the library. Let's just say Monkey Truck burns banana gas."
