On the Night Table: Wendy Bulloch

Wendy Bulloch

Literacy Partners of Manitoba executive director

"Over the summer, I finished reading Dams of Contention -- The Rafferty-Alameda Story and the Birth of Canadian Environmental Law, by Bill Redekop. Redekop writes about how two farmers who believed they were being bullied and railroaded by the powers that be fought back. The quote by Lord Acton came to mind for me: "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely." It was outstanding read. Next on my list to read is A Thousand Farewells by the CBC-TV reporter and former Winnipegger Nahlah Ayed. Keep reading, Manitobans, and happy International Literacy Day."
