The provincial NDP would be wise to air its dirty laundry and reveal its skeletons before the new party does so. Citizens are tired of obfuscation and dirty dealings. We want transparency and accountability, not scandalous behaviour such as that which led to the creation of the Saskatchewan Party. Should be interesting to see how this unfolds.

This might be a good idea. Our premier, Greg Selinger, has become fat and sassy. He doesn’t look at any of his ministries, even when severe complaints are launched.

The Manitoba Party can’t win government, but neither can the Tories.

What they can do is possibly steal of couple of NDP ridings in Winnipeg where the representation is weak and the MLAs are not cut out for politics.

The Manitoba Party would also serve the public well by beating out Tories like Myrna Driedger and Bonny Mitchelson.

A legislature with an NDP minority might rejuvenate the aimless NDP. Something like 26 NDP, 21 PC, 7 Man. Party, 2 Liberal, 1 Green.

— Ozzy

If their main source of membership comes from provincial Liberals and Greens plus disgruntled Tories, they’re going to have to find a lot of disgruntled Tories. They’re more apt to divide the right-wing vote in the city than steal NDP seats.

Love it! Just wish it was called the Bison Party (a la Wild Rose Party in Alberta). Shows zero creativity to just name it after the province it wishes to govern.

Great — another party to help the NDP win again. The NDP will get 45 per cent of the votes and the other three parties will split the 55 per cent.

I support this NDP government being re-elected in 2015 so that they can be in power when the ship they built over the last 12 years fully sinks.

I would hate to see someone else win in 2015 just to be blamed for all the crap from the last 12 years that is going to finally sink this province. Let Selinger be there when the province sinks so that the Manitoba voters (sheep) can fully see what the NDP did to Manitoba. Then in 2019 we can elect a new government with everything out in the open and transparent.

— Daren Jorgenson

I hope that this new party emphasizes fiscal responsibility. During the last provincial election, the only way to distinguish the PCs from the NDPs was the colour of the signs.

I hope this new party flourishes. Just look at what the Saskatchewan Party has done for them.

They went from a have-not province to supporting others in eight years. We could do that here if only we could elect a government that knows what fiscal responsibility is.

Another Conservative Party. Split the bonehead vote. All my best to them.

Sounds very encouraging to me. Canadians like to be governed from the center and I don’t think Manitoba is any different.

I will be carefully watching the make up of this new party before makinging up my mind. I vote one way in Manitoba and another way Federally It will depend on the leader. If he is a right wing conservative, then I wouldn’t be interested. Is there a second Gary in this Province?

I think that we definitely need to try something new in this province. A centrist approach is the most realistic, practical and sensible one and has been the hallmark of the Liberal Party. I’m interested in seeing their platform. I believe the reason why Manitoba did quite well under the Doer government is because of the tendency to govern from the centre. Let’s see what happens.
