Letter of the day: No Internet? How about weather?
I recently returned home from hipr eplacement surgery at the Grace Hospital.
The competence of the entire staff, from surgeons to cleaning personnel, was beyond reproach. Everyone was caring and cheerful. However, the electronic communications and entertainment facilities were dismal.
To begin with, no Internet access. The TV, which consisted of a pathetic package that didn’t even include the Weather Channel, was yours for a mere $13 per day. Want a remote with that? Sorry, someone might steal it.
Want "mute" or "channel return"? Sorry, not available.
The telephone was shared (no long distance). My first roommate had a respiratory problem and regularly covered the phone with a layer of spittle. I wouldn’t have touched that phone with a hazmat suit.
Where is the $350 per month charged per TV patient going? At home I pay approximately $5 per day for HD TV, Wi-Fi and telephone with long distance. C’mon, WHRA, the ’70s are over.
