Re: Buffer zones for cyclists mulled (April 25). Anything to improve safety for all users of Winnipeg streets is a good thing. The problem is that many streets are narrow, and designating a bike lane on a narrow street increases the danger for everyone. Skirting around potholes makes things even more hazardous.
As an aside, on a recent trip to Toronto, I saw, posted below a standard stop sign, a second stop sign with a picture of a bicycle on it and the words, "Cyclists must stop." Something to think about.
