Letter of the day: Beginning of a new way

Your May 17 article Animals are animals, new ad says is excellent. This type of thinking will no doubt shake up a large portion of the population. But it is the beginning of a new way of being accountable to our wants and needs as a society.

Whether it's buying cheap clothes from workhouses in other countries, or buying cheap meat that has been raised and killed under horrific conditions, our society must do better than this. All it takes is the will to work toward a better system.
