Bordering on absurdsky

Re: Jets score Ponikarovsky (July 2). During the NHL playoffs, I noticed that New Jersey Devils player Alexei Ponikarovsky's name could barely fit on the back of his jersey.

Now, as a Winnipeg Jet, he might consider lending a few letters to fellow teammates with short names -- like Kane(sky), Fehr(sky) and Ladd(sky), making them honourary Russians.

When his contract expires, he will want the letters back. If you think this idea trades on the absurd, and involves a big Jokinen, then you are mostly correct.
