Re: Stadium to get transit discount (April 30). After consulting with my coffee group as well as family and friends, we came to the brilliant conclusion that perhaps Winnipeg Blue Bombers fans using the transit system on game days could toss a few loonies in the fare box and subsidize their own ride to the event.

For the price of half a beer at the stadium, this great debate could be solved.

As a rural Manitoban, I'm not too concerned about what the city funds, but the Manitoba government has no business even considering the funding option.

Is this just another so-called benefit citizens will receive, thanks due to the cash windfall created by the one-percentage-point sales-tax increase?
