Letter of the Day
Come back in January
My wife and I visited Winnipeg for a medical procedure in August. Our visit was for eight days. This allowed us a good opportunity to explore and experience the city.
We have travelled extensively throughout the world and we remember a city not primarily by its physical attributes, historic aspects and attractions but particularly by how we are treated while visiting.
Winnipeg clearly shone during our visit, and every citizen should be very proud. The excellent service and reception we received was well spread out -- from taxi drivers, Inn at the Forks staff, bus drivers, the Université de St. Boniface, restaurant staff and all the medical personnel at the Victoria Hospital. Without exception, all were very friendly, helpful and proud of their city.
Winnipeg should also be proud of its history, The Forks area and its many other sights and neighbourhoods. Winnipeg is truly underrated; it is a gem that has a lot to offer to its citizens and tourists alike.
