Explain compensation
Re: What price for a mom's life? (Feb. 2). The level of family support in this tragic circumstance deserves explanation.
The family court system has very specific guidelines on levels of spousal support and child support in the case of separation or divorce. These parameters are guided by a formula which evaluates need and capability based on a comparison of the income levels of each party, and in the case of child support, their age, etc.

In this case, it would appear that MPI recognizes that the father is deserving of both spousal support and child support. The organization would be well-served to explain its means of establishing the levels it has offered, compared with application of the family court guidelines.
