EPC pledge paltry

Re: Bowman wants council to elect EPC (Aug. 26). That's all well and good, but I'm still waiting on some major policy announcements from this guy. I don't think you need to call a press conference for something as minor as this.

He is coming up a lot lighter than I thought he would. I had him pitted as more of a heavy weight and not a fly weight fighter.

This proposal is housekeeping. I would like to see some substantive proposals as to your vision of Winnipeg in 5, 10, and 15 years. The city needs a responsible visionary, not an administrator.

Not a big deal and I'm expecting/hoping for more, but what's not to like about this?

This whole race is getting me down. I don't see one inspiring, credible candidate.

I like this guy and hope he is our new mayor. New blood, and he doesn't come with his hand out like most of the rest have.

Mulling race for mayor

Re: (Some) campaigns picking up steam (Aug. 26). I agree with Bartley Kives on Gord Steeves (hilarious) and Judy Wasylycia-Leis (depressing).

I think this may be underestimating Robert-Falcon Ouellette -- I have seen him more than all the rest of the candidates combined, and I still like what he says best of the lot.

I hope David Sanders gets some more coverage, as I think he can enrich the debate, even if he can't win the election.

I seriously hope Sanders gets his name and and some innovative ideas out there. In my estimation, he is the best candidate.

Steeves and Judy Wasylycia-Leis are the two front-runners. That is scary. I am a bit disappointed in Brian Bowman. Ouellette seems very genuine but he also seems to be a gentle person. Not sure his skin is thick enough for the rigours of the mayor's office. Paula Havixbeck is a current councillor, no vote from me. The others, no, just no.

Gord is saying what the suburban taxpayer wants to hear. I'm glad one of them knows we exist.
