Many people regularly check in with Facebook while at the office.
Is Alexa Gorman for real (Banning social media at work short-sighted, Feb. 16)? She would not have that tunnel-vision view if she were the boss paying the wages.
Browsing social media is not work. It's pleasure. And it is not something your boss is required to finance.
I believe all workplaces should ban the use of social-media access and jam incoming cellphone signals unless they are work-related.
But of course, a journalism student would have her position -- until she has worked full time for several years and realizes the folly of her thought.
