Re: Unfunded liability grows for public sector (Aug. 2). Given the NDP will never reduce benefits to public employees, nor raise employee contributions to levels that are normal in the private sector, there seems to be only one logical means to bridge this unfunded liability gap. The NDP should simply pass a law raising the PST to 11 per cent for the next three years and use that income to bridge the gap.

You'd think the NDP might also consider taking a hard look at school boards and those in the unelected public sector who negotiate these ridiculously expensive public pensions.

But don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen.
