Letter of the Day

Let's look on bright side

Re: Still one great city (Letters, Sept. 5). To love or loathe -- that is the question. The Blue Bombers become more pathetic with each game. Joe Mack gets to stay. Paul LaPolice gets to leave.

The water from my taps is still brownish yellow. City hall land-deal shenanigans continue. And Sam Katz, the city's big boss, is always unpleasantly surprised at what his own underlings do.

But let's take heart. Fall is almost upon us. Our summer of discontent will soon be behind us. No cankerworms, no mosquitoes, no spider webs. The good, bad and the ugly of spring and summer will be replaced with a different set of good, bad and ugly of fall and winter.

And so it will continue. But is Shindipeg/Winterpeg still Winnerpeg? You betcha.
