More answers, less questions

  • Print

While Mayor Sam Katz is unhappily dancing around the police headquarters audit (Time's not on their side, Jan. 23), the issue of cost overruns for unauthorized design changes in the new fire-paramedic station sits unresolved.

In response to the Freedom of Information request from the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, it was learned no fire hall documentation exists (Bureaucrats slammed for fire hall fiasco, Jan. 23). Mayor Katz was surprised, stating "if there is a change of that extent, there should be something somewhere, absolutely," and he is going to be asking questions.

Answering a question with a question eventually leads you to falling flat on your face. A lack of answers makes it seem like the mayor is running the city as if it were his personal business, and therefore is accountable to no one.
