Letter of the Day

Online bullies torment writer

  • Print

I wrote a piece in the April 28 SundayExtra espousing my love for the Bridge Drive-In, Just try to explain the Goog. Maybe I shouldn't have read the comments on the online edition after it appeared, because I was saddened to see that some readers decided to focus on my weight rather than the content of the article.

While I am the first to admit that I am overweight, I do not need to be reminded of the bullies who tormented my childhood and who are now confronting me in the newspaper.

My weight has been a struggle for me, and I have the same comments running through my head every time I look in the mirror. Thank you for motivating me to become a better person, and maybe we should all try to become a little bit better.
