Damned if you do, damned if you don't -- that sums up Dan Lett's piece on the lack of photo ops Brian Pallister has created surrounding this year's flood crisis (PC leader keeps far from flood fight's crucial front lines, July 22).
Has Pallister actually been out to visit the front lines, spending time with those who have been affected? Absolutely. But it appears he chose to not bring along the entourage of photographers, as is the habit of Premier Greg Selinger.
I imagine that if the leader of the Opposition had been getting lots of press and photo ops, both the press and the NDP would be vilifying him for using people's misfortunes for personal political gain.
I'm glad to see Pallister showing good judgment, a concept seldom used these days in Manitoba politics.
