Re: Parties should earn support at the doorstep (April 16). I fully support Brian Pallister's principled position that the government should not be, in effect, taxing people to support political parties.

It should be up to individual parties to raise the necessary funds from the public for political purposes.

I resent my tax dollars going to support political parties I don't favour. I hope Pallister's refusal to accept this funding doesn't mean it will be disbursed to the other parties.

If this is the case, the public should be understandably outraged.
