Speaking as a highly habit-driven runner (are there any other kinds?), deeply committed to my own conventions and tricks for success, I thought Shamona Harnett's debunking of marathon myths was perhaps ill-timed a mere five days before the Manitoba Marathon (Marathon myths, June 10).
Do we really want to be told our entrenched beliefs and practices are hokum when it's too late to change them?
I suppose her next act will be to tell NHLers their beards have no bearing on the outcome of their playoff games.
