Turning blight into bright
Re: Lo Pub closing its doors (Aug. 25) It was a sad day in Winnipeg on Saturday when Jack Jonasson was forced to turn off the lights at Lo Pub and Bistro for the last time. Jack had worked hard at and was successful in turning blight into bright, just what most of us want for our city.
He created one of the few places where young and old could gather, sing or dance if they chose, meet for conversation, listen to live music and all in a very comfortable and safe environment.
His café provided the most delicious and affordable vegetarian and vegan cuisine this city had to offer, as well. We'll miss Lo Pub and look forward to its new location whenever that happens.
