Letter of the Day

Worth his weight in skeeters

Our stellar city entomologist, Taz Stuart, deserves thanks for the exceptional work he is continuing to do for the city. We had such a beautiful, virtually mosquito-free summer here in the city -- again! It was wonderful to be able to enjoy time outside without having to apply bug spray to ourselves.

However, we do recognize that down the road, every summer may not be so exceptional. Mother Nature is not predictable. But, clearly, Stuart knows what he's doing and has shown us that he's worth his weight in mosquitoes.

Mayor Katz and city council should consider a raise for Stuart. We'd be broken-hearted if he were lured away.
